HDD Locators and Drillers – Ontario

Platinum Hydrovac and HDD is looking for HDD Locators and Drillers to join our team in the Province of Ontario. Our Company has been leading the industry with professional quality
services, customer, and employee safety since 2009. We are a full-service civil build team able to meet all our client’s shallow utility needs.

Responsibilities:

  • Directional boring infrastructure such as telecommunications, power cable conduits, gas
    lines, etc.
  • Ability to read locates, and any underground facility plans/drawings
  • Understands how to layout a bore path with plans and locates and the utilization of a Hydrovac for proper daylighting.
  • Mathematical inclined
  • Mechanical aptitude
  • Must follow all company SWP
  • Working in extreme temperatures (cold and heat)
  • Ability to lift 50 lbs.
  • Ability to think and react to changing conditions quickly
  • Ability to work out of town, LOA provided
  • Must be able to work up to 12-hour days, 5-6 days a week.

Qualifications and Experience:

  • At least 2 years of experience with Vermeer HDD Units and Falcon Locators.
  • Hours of Service Training (ELD Compliance)
  • Strong communication skills, both written and verbal
  • Excellent attention to detail
  • CSTS-09 and Ground Disturbance Level ll
  • Safety is a priority
  • Class 3 and 5 with Air, license required.
  • Clean Commercial drivers abstract

    Platinum Hydrovac and HDD is looking for Hydrovac Operators to join our team.

    Responsibilities:

    • Inspect the truck and equipment prior to being used for deficiencies and proper functionality
    • Day lighting locates
    • Slot trenching
    • Catch pits
    • Must follow all company SWP
    • Working in extreme temperatures (cold and heat)
    • Ability to lift 50 lbs.
    • Ability to think and react to changing conditions quickly.
    • Able to work safely and efficiently with minimal supervision
    • Can take direction and can work well with others
    • Ability to work out of town, LOA Provided
    • Must be able to work up to 12-hour days, 5-6 days a week.

    Requirements:

    • Valid class 3 Operators license with Air.
    • Hours of Service Training (ELD Compliance)
    • Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
    • Safety is priority
    • Minimum 1-2 years of experience
    • CSTS-09, Ground Disturbance level II, First Aid, Fall Pro, H2S
    • Experience on Foremost and or Tornado Units
    • Preferably some mechanical knowledge of HVAC units
    • Can trouble shoot minor problems on trucks
    • Clean Commercial drivers abstract

      Full Job Description

      • Heavy Duty Mechanic required in Nisku, AB, primarily work on Hydrovacs 
      • Provide own reliable transportation for travel to and from work
      • Be able to work in a full-service shop and complete repairs & preventative maintenance
      • Interpret work orders & complete in a timely fashion
      • Excellent troubleshooting capabilities
      • Ability to identify potential problems & repair before it is an issue
      • Good communication skills both verbally & written
      • Monday to Friday with willingness to work after hours and weekends if required
      • Clean work environment, with a well-established, locally owned company
      • Wage is based on experience and is negotiable
